These CMEs are conducted from time to time and usually focuses on discussion about various aspects of Diabetes.
Amongst Physicians the practice of Diabetes constitutes a major chunk. Guidelines and Therapeutic options to manage Diabetes have undergone a sea change and are constantly evolving. Though, good number of conferences and seminars are being organized on Diabetes, still Physicians look forward for crystal clear conceptual information, which can be used in their practice. Unfortunately neither the training in Medical School nor information provided in conferences is practical and ready to use.
Keeping the concept of practical utility of the information provided during an academic meet, TOTALL Diabetes Hormone Institute has designed a 3 days CME programme on Practical Diabetology which has been named as PGCDM (Practical Guidance on Comprehensive Diabetes Management).
The major highlight of this programme is 3 days fully residential practical training. This training is provided at TOTALL Diabetes Hormone Institute, during which doctors stay in the campus itself. During this training programme, all relevant and practical aspects related to day-to-day Diabetes Care and Management is discussed. The emphasis is to provide information without any ambiguity and to clarify concepts to such a standard that from next day onwards, the same information is translated into practice.
The content of the programme is based on Practical problems faced in day to day practice . The idea is to cover all issues related to Diabetes which a physician encounters in his practice and to provide him conceptual clarity to handle such issues with confidence.
Usually, the programme starts at 10 am and lasts upto 10 pm. Training is imparted through interactive classroom teaching, Quizes, Case based group discussion, Hands on training on various aspects of insulin injection technique, CGMS , SMPG, Insulin Pump etc. is done.
Till date this programme has been attended by more than 200 physicians across the country and has been widely acknowledged and appreciated.
